Below, taken from their website, helps to explain what the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity do.
Macmillan Cancer Relief is a UK charity that works to improve the quality of life for people living with cancer.
Each and every day 739 people in the UK are told they have cancer. There are now over a million people in the UK that have had a cancer diagnosis and, if current trends continue, this number will have increased to 3 million by 2025.
Macmillan offers life support by providing the expert care and practical support that makes a real difference to people living with cancer. We offer a range of innovative cancer services and are at the heart of improving cancer care throughout the UK.
We are proud of our history - Macmillan Cancer Relief has been leading the way in cancer care for nearly a century.
As well as taking action today to support people with cancer, we're shaping the future of cancer care. We have a vision for how we want cancer care to change. With your help, we aim to get there.
